Waltham – Mrs. Josephine M. (Rigoli) Hebert, of Waltham, died Monday, February 22, 2010 at her home. She was 93. Josephine was born in Waltham on October 27, 1916, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Francesca (Aquilla) Rigoli, and had been a lifelong Waltham resident. She owned and operated the former Mama Josie's Restaurant on Main Street for over 31 years before retiring in 2002. She was a communicant of Saint Mary's Church in Waltham and a member of the Regina Margherita Lodge No. 1402 of the Order Sons of Italy in America in Waltham. Josephine loved bingo and her trips to Foxwoods. She found her greatest satisfaction by working hard all of her life, keeping her home up and being with her family. Josephine received numerous citations from the city for her charitable work throughout the years. Her husband, Anthony J. Hebert died in 1980. She leaves her children, Mary Alice McMahon and Helen J. Zagwyn, both of Waltham and Edward A. Hebert and his wife, Lorna, of Wayland; her brother, Anthony Rigoli of Peculiar, Missouri; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews Josephine was also the mother of the late Jeannette F. Hebert-Sainsbury; grandmother of the late Robert A. McMahon and Deborah A. Zagwyn and a sister of the late Augustine Rigoli, Carl Rigoli, Sebastian Gargone, Constance Magazu, Rose Payne, Helen Rigoli and Angela LaForest. Family and friends will honor and remember Josephine's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
