Josephine J. LaFort

Westboro - Mrs. Josephine J. (Phillips) LaFort, of Westboro, formerly of Waltham, died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Millbury Health Care Center. She was 94. Josephine was born in Waltham on January 18, 1915, a daughter of the late Francesco and Lucia (Peperella) DeFilippis, she had lived in Waltham for many years before moving to Westboro. She had worked for many years as an office worker for the Puritan Dress Company in Waltham. She was also a former member of the Pine Street Social Club, the Waltham Golden Age Club and she enjoyed bowling. The wife of the late William P. LaFort, she leaves her daughters, Barbara A. Mula and her husband, Fred, of Hudson and Sandra J. Colangelo and her husband, Frank, of Westboro; 6 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Josephine was also the sister of the late Joseph Phillips, Benedict Phillips, Albert Phillips, Thomas Phillips, Anthony Phillips, Frances Binda, Patricia Deldon, and Mary Maffucci. Family and friends will honor and remember Josephine�s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
