Watertown – Mrs. Josephine T. (Bonanno) Rayner, of Watertown, died on Tuesday April 22, 2014 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton. She was 95.
Josephine was born on May 16, 1918, a daughter of the late Joseph and Natalie (Luca) Bonanno. She met her husband, Thomas T. Rayner, Sr., while out dancing and the pair married in April of 1941. She was a loving mother and grandmother and took pride in taking care of her family and her home. She was also a big sports fan and her favorite teams were the Bruins and Sox.
She is predeceased by her husband, Thomas, and is survived by her sons, Thomas Rayner, Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Walpole and Edward Rayner and his wife, Marie, of North Andover; her grandchildren, Jason, Andrew, Jeffrey, Kevin and Kristen Rayner and her nieces and nephew, Virginia Bartow, Barbara Walsh, Shirley Marquis and Robert Williams.
She was also the sister of the late Frank and Nicholas Bonanno, Mary Williams, Grace Gardiner and Anna Patterson.
Family and friends will honor and remember Josephine's life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Saturday, April 26th from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to St. Jude's Church, 147 Main St., Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery, Boston.
