Josie C. Kato

Ms. Josie C. (Nishioka) Kato, of Waltham, died Monday, September 9, 2013 in Meadow Green Nursing Home. She was 93.

Josie was born on March 1, 1920 in Petaluma, California a daughter of the late C. Nishioka and Kotora (Nakamuda) Nishioka.

She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in Jamaica Plain for many years before retiring.

Josie loved to travel and visited many national parks, she had a passion for arts and crafts especially pottery and stained glass. She enjoyed a good round of golf, appreciated beautiful cars, especially Thunderbirds and was an animal lover.

Josie leaves her longtime partner, Frank T. Moy of Waltham and his family, Clifford Moy of Orlando, Florida, Steven Moy of Wakefield, Rhode Island and Lana Harrington of Stow; her grandchildren, Jonathan, Elizabeth and Christopher Moy, Frank IV, Gregory and Brian Harrington.

Family and friends will honor and remember Josie's life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Saturday, September 14th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by her Funeral Service being held at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
