Juanita E. Chagnon

Mrs. Juanita E. (Harvey) Chagnon, of Fort Pierce, Florida, formerly of Waltham, died Monday, April 13, 2009 in her daughter's home in Braintree. She was 81.

Juanita was born on December 27, 1927 in Waltham, a daughter of the late Frederick and (Morton) Harvey. She was a homemaker and had lived in Waltham for most of her life before moving to Florida several years ago.

She leaves her husband of fifty-nine years, Michael 'Jim' Chagnon and was the much beloved 'Mom' to her children, Patricia Wurts of Tampa, Florida, Michelle Charles of Braintree, Michael Chagnon, Jr. of Wareham, James Chagnon of Shrewsbury, Marianne Gray of Manchester, New Hampshire and Andrew Chagnon of Whitinsville. Juanita was also the grandmother of thirteen, great-grandmother of two and leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Juanita was a sister of the late Beverly Harvey, Iris Sumner, Phyllis Lapino and Joan Greenwood.

Family and friends will honor and remember Juanita's life by gathering for calling hours on Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham where her funeral service will be held at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
