Waltham – Mr. Jude St. Germain, of Waltham, died Saturday, July 30, 2011 in Saint Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton. He was 61.
Jude was born in Waltham on December 27, 1949 a son of the late Arthur L. and Phyllis (Manning) St. Germain. He was a graduate of Acton-Boxborough High School and The New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in Boston. He had lived in Acton and in Burlington before moving to Waltham more than forty years ago.
A funeral director for the past 40 years, Jude owned and operated the St. Germain & Son Funeral Home on Moody Street in Waltham with his late father who founded the firm in 1970. In 2005 the business was merged with Joyce’s Funeral Home on Main Street.
During semi-retirement Jude spent time at his home in North Stratford, New Hampshire where he enjoyed fishing, boating and ATV’ing with friends.
He leaves his wife of thirty years, Lucille M. (Dupuis) St. Germain; his siblings, Arthur L. St. Germain, Jr. of Maynard and Dona M. Kriete and her husband, Laurence, of Northport, Florida and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jude’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, August 3rd, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester, New Hampshire on Friday at 11 a.m.
