Judith A. Long

Waltham— Ms. Judith A. “Judy” Long, of Waltham, died Monday, June 12, 2023 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital following a two year battle with cancer. She was 79.

Judy was born in Waltham on May 29, 1944, a daughter of the late Lloyd L. and Alice C. (Christie) Long. A lifelong resident of the city, she was a graduate of Waltham High School. For more than 23 years she was a friendly and familiar face in the cafeteria at Waltham High before her retirement in 1999.

Judy loved cheering on the Boston Bruins and always looked forward to trips to Foxwoods and Las Vegas with her travel companion and lifelong friend, Cathy Michaud. 

In addition to her parents, Judy was predeceased by her brother and sister, the late William W. Long and Janice M. Long.

She leaves her son, Lloyd L. Long and his wife, Sharon, of Waltham; her brother, Robert L. Long of Texas; and many nieces and nephews. 

 A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 27th at 12 p.m. in Mount Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect Street, Waltham.
