Canaan, New Hampshire - Ms. Judith R. Walsh, of Canaan, formerly of Newton, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. She was 71.
Judith was born in Boston on March 22, 1940, a daughter of the late James and Mary (Dargon) Walsh, and had lived in New Hampshire for the past five years. Following Judith's high school graduation, she worked for three years for the United States Government in Germany and enjoyed traveling all around the world to places like Cairo, France, and Italy. She then found herself back in the United States and working as a caregiver for many years in Virginia. She had a special bond with animals which she adored, the outdoors, gardening, and skiing.
She leaves her sister, Linda M. Dillinger of Chelmsford; her brother, James W. Walsh of Waltham; and her nieces and nephew, Karen Kluge of Matthews, North Carolina, Susan Spooner-Bishop of Belmont, New Hampshire, Kenneth Spooner of Pepperell and Dawn Spooner of Chelmsford.
Family and friends will honor and remember Judith's life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Wednesday morning, April 13th, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Our Lady Help of Christians Church, 573 Washington Street, Newton where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Newton Cemetery.
