Julia L. (Hoarde) Maloney

Ashland – Mrs. Julia L. (Hoarde) Maloney, of Ashland, formerly of Waltham and Brighton died Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the age of 104.

Julia was born in Waltham on February 11, 1913, a daughter of the late and Joseph and Elizabeth (Mehegan) Hoarde and was a graduate of Waltham High School.

She was a loving wife to the late Charles M. Maloney for 56 years and a cherished sister of the late Mary Brooks and Robert Hoarde.

Julia lived in Brighton for forty years before returning to Waltham in 1986. Her final move to Ashland came ten years ago. Until her retirement she happily worked for the George B.H. Macomber Company of Boston for thirty-seven years.

She leaves her children, Janis E. Bagnall and her husband, Robert, of Marshfield, Kenneth R. Maloney and his wife, Kristine, of Westminster, Colorado and Phyllis A. Antonellis of Mendon and her daughter-in-law, Suzanne Maloney of Ashland. Julia also leaves a beautiful legacy of 22 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Julia was the mother of the late Charles J. Maloney and Donald E. Maloney and mother-in-law of the late Barbara (Wickman) Maloney, Dorothy (Doucette) Maloney and Robert Antonellis.

Family and friends will honor and remember Julia's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, March 6th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
