Waltham - Mr. Julius A. 'Strum' Stremeckus of Waltham died Friday December 16, 2005 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 81. Born in Boston, a son of the late Anthony and Anna (Kaupas) Stremeckus, he was a Boston Police Officer for many years before his retirement in 1978. He was a World War II veteran serving with the United States Navy. He was the father of the late James Stremeckus and brother of the late Frank Stremeckus and Bonnie Weber. He is survived by his wife, Edith B. (Scott) Stremeckus; one son, Mark Stremeckus of Haverhill; one daughter, Jean P. Stremeckus of Waltham; one brother, Victor Stemeckus and his wife Helen of Waltham; three grandchildren, Cheryl Stremeckus, Michael Stremeckus and Haley Peppard, and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held Monday December 19, 2005 at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Marys Church, 133 School Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, West Roxbury.
