Wayland – Mrs. June E. (Gubana) Arnold, of Wayland, died peacefully on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington surrounded by her family and friends. She was 79.
June was born in Cambridge on January 12, 1934, the daughter of the late Peter and Jennie Gubana. She was raised in Cambridge before moving to Newton where she lived for most of her life. She also lived in Waltham before moving to Wayland eight years ago.
Her family and her faith were the most important aspects of her life. She loved spending time with her family and friends; camping, reading, playing cribbage, cooking for family gatherings, watching hockey games and long strolls around Plymouth Harbor. She was a longtime member of Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Parish in Waltham where she had also worked for a number of years.
June leaves her devoted and loving children, Joseph Arnold and his wife, Lindy, of Scottsdale, Arizona, Lee Arnold of Blackstone and Peter Arnold and his wife, Marilyn, of Foxboro; her cherished grandchildren, Justin, Amy, Courtney, Mark, Derek, Caroline and Nicholas; and her great-grandchildren, Christian, Payton and Madison.
Another grandchild who she lovingly remembered as Gramsbear's Little Angel, Peter Joseph Jasset, died in infancy.
Family and friends will honor and remember June's life by gathering for the celebration of her Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Wednesday morning, June 26, in Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham. Burial will be private.
