June M. Garrigan

Waltham – Miss June M. Garrigan, of Waltham, died Sunday, October 25, 2009 at The Blaire House in Worcester. She was 83. June was born in Waltham on July 28, 1926, a daughter of the late John R. and Maud (Barker) Garrigan, and had been a lifelong resident. Until her retirement in 1988, she worked for twenty-four years as the executive secretary in the chief's office for the Waltham Fire Department. Before that, June worked for sixteen years at the Waltham City Clerk's office. In her spare time, June was an avid golfer and was a former member of the Marlborough Country Club, Leo J. Martin Ladies League, and a former member of the Waltham Senior Citizens Bowling League. She leaves her brothers, Bernard B. Garrigan and his wife, Joan, of Camden, Maine and John R. Garrigan and his wife, Phyllis, of Duxbury, and her beloved nieces and nephews. June was also the sister of the late Paul M. Garrigan, Bernadine G. Roberts and Patricia A. Fitzpatrick. Family and friends will honor and remember June's life by gathering at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham where her funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Newton Cemetery.
