Karen Barry loved life and the people in it. She loved her family and doted on her grandchildren. A lover of God's creatures she fostered all sorts of animals and was known to feed a stray or two. She loved her living community on Ridge Lane and friendships that developed over the years. The self-dubbed 'Clubhouse G-5' was a group of neighbors who became friends and would gather often outdoors just for conversation and companionship.
She was David Ortiz's number one fan and would look forward to celebrating her birthday each year with a game at Fenway Park. Regardless of whether she was in the park or not if the Red Sox were playing she was listening or watching. Her love of animals inspired countless hours of volunteer work at various shelters including Animal Umbrella in Peabody. She was known to shop for a bargain and cut the weekly coupons for an even better deal.
Karen died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 8, 2020 in Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. She was 62. In heaven she rejoins her son, Kenneth P. Barry who died April 29, 2019. She will be remembered as of the most genuine and nicest people who was loved by so many.
