Mrs. Karen M. (Hoyt) Stanley, of The Villages, Florida and formerly of Waltham, died on Sunday July 16, 2017. She was 64.
Karen was born in Lowell on August 27, 1952, the daughter of the late Norman and Mary (Long) Hoyt. After graduating high school she obtained her hairdressing license, which she enjoyed doing for many years in salons, private homes and nursing homes. She ran her own business, flower/craft shop and worked at the Waltham Stop & Shop on Lexington St. as an assistant manager before retiring to Florida. She enjoyed golf, bowling, dancing and visiting with and caring for her family and friends.
She is survived by her beloved husband, David Stanley; her children, Dawn O'Neill and her husband, Edward, of Littleton, Kimberly Strafford and her husband, Daniel, of Waltham and Kevin Conzo of Oregon; her siblings, Richard Hoyt of AZ, Dianne Hoyt Latter of Otis, Kenneth Hoyt of NH and Michael Hoyt of Uxbridge. Also survived by her adoring grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was also the sister-in-law of the late Dean Stanley and grandmother of the late Zachary Dean Conzo.
Family and friends will honor and remember Karen's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday July 26th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Thursday morning when her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial will follow Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
