Katherine A. 'Kay' (Donlan) DeRamio

Waltham – Mrs. Katherine A. 'Kay' (Donlan) DeRamio, of Waltham, died Thursday, March 29, 2018 in Meadow Green Nursing Home, Waltham. She was 96.
Kay was born in Newton on September 3, 1921, a daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (Shields) Donlan. She graduated from Saint Bernard's High School in West Newton.
On August 26, 1944 she married Albert A. DeRamio at Saint Bernard's Church and the couple made Waltham their lifelong home. They enjoyed forty-one happy years together until Al's death on August 1, 1985.
Kay's greatest joys came at home with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their army of friends all of whom affectionately called her 'Nana Kay'. She enjoyed dancing at Nuttings on the Charles, bowling at the Wal-Lex and being a member of Saint Mary's Mothers Club. When the grandchildren arrived she gained another mission and never missed one of their games, plays or performances, and she was always their loudest cheerleader.
She leaves her children, Dianne M. Cedrone (Domenic) and Judith A. Corcoran (Vincent) all of Waltham; her grandchildren, Kerry M. DeStefano (Michael), Jason E. Lambert (Kristen), Domenic A. Cedrone (Christie), Jeffrey R. Cedrone, Matthew P. Cedrone (Hannah Robinson), Kaitlyn A. Cedrone, Shawn Corcoran, Todd Corcoran, Christopher Corcoran, Deborah Wood and Michael Corcoran; her great grandchildren, Sevannah Corcoran, Dante DeStefano, Gabriella DeStefano, and Edward Nolan Lambert; her caretakers, Priscilla and Bridget and many nieces and nephews.
Kay was also a sister of the late Mary Bertrand, Margaret Harrington, Helen Murphy, Teresa Cameron, James Donlan and Edward Donlan.
Family and friends will honor and remember Kay's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday, April 10th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
