Mrs. Kathleen F. (Linnehan) Casey, of Waltham, died Tuesday, August 7, 2018 in Meadow Green Nursing Home. She was 81.
She was born February 5, 1937 in Newton a daughter of the late Francis and Gertrude (Mullin) Linnehan. Raised and educated in Newton she was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. She married Donald J. Casey on April 28, 1962 in Sacred Heart Church in Newton Centre and she moved to Waltham to make their home. Donald died October 19, 2012.
Kathleen worked as a secretary for Acton Metal Co. for over 25 years before retiring in 2006.
An avid New England sports enthusiast she also enjoyed knitting and spending time with her grandchildren and family.
In addition to her husband, Don, she is predeceased by her siblings, Francis 'Sonny', James and Edward Linnehan and Patricia Cronin.
She leaves her children, Karen M. Rowland (Brock - Deputy Chief WFD) of Waltham, Donald J. Casey Jr. (Laura) of Burlington and Kevin M. Casey (Katrina) of Hopedale; her grandchildren, Kasey Rowland, Brian Rowland, Donald Casey III (Liz Catinella), Shelby Casey, Natalie Casey, Michaela, Christopher, Lila and Mia Casey; her sister Joan Hurley of Auburn; many nieces & nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Kathleen's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, August 10th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
