Kathleen M. (Sullivan) DeSantis, of Waltham, died on May 12, 2020 in Good Samaritan Hospital, Brockton. She was 79 years old.
Kathleen was born in Boston on November 8, 1940, the daughter of the late John and Gertrude (Gleason) Sullivan. Growing up in a military family, her dad serving in the Air Force, she moved quite often and graduated from Falmouth High School on the Cape. Kathleen furthered her education and became a nurse. She loved her job and enjoyed working with both patients and families. Before her retirement Kathleen had worked for many years at Wingate of Needham. She had previously worked at Reservoir Nursing Home in Waltham.
Her life revolved around her family and as a single mother she worked very hard to make sure her children had everything they needed and more. She enjoyed the simple things in life, reading a good book, attending Tai Chi class with her brother Jack every Monday, a glass of Chardonnay with her good friend Mary on Friday nights and spending time with her children, grandchildren, siblings and of course her canine companion, Kiki. She will be dearly missed and remembered for her kind and generous spirit.
She is survived by her children, Scott J. DeSantis and his wife, Marie, of Kingston, Kathleen M. DeSantis of Bedford and Eric J. DeSantis of Rockland; her siblings, Gertrude Sullivan of Waltham and John 'Jack' Sullivan and his wife, Anne, of Waltham; her grandchildren, Derek, Daniel and Paul DeSantis and Katie Anne Collura; her great-grandchildren, Grayson and Jake DeSantis and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families.
Funeral services are private.
