Katia Jean Jacques, passed away peacefully on August 30th, 2024, at her home in Boston, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family. She was 63 years old. Katia was born on August 23rd, 1961 in Petion-Ville, Haiti, to the late Charles Dessalines Jean Jacques and Marie Cecile Collin. She immigrated to the United States in July 1982 and lived in Queens, New York, and Waltham, Massachusetts for years before settling in Boston, Massachusetts fifteen years ago.
Katia had a vibrant personality and loved sewing, cooking, interior design, and traveling the world. She brought warmth and joy to every room she entered, effortlessly making those around her smile.
Before illness led to her retirement, she worked as a healthcare caregiver in private homes and with various agencies across Greater Boston. Her kind and compassionate nature earned her the admiration and friendship of clients and their families.
Katia is survived by her beloved daughter, Felicia Blaise; her siblings, Marie Yolette Jean Jacques Destin, Max Jean Jacques, Martine Bazile, Nadege Bazile, Pierre Andre Bazile, Yves Bazile, Reginald Bazile, Joubert Jean Jacques, Mireille Jean Jacques, and Arloudes Henry; her nephews, Jims Destin and Junior Jean Jacques; her nieces, Keshia Mejia, Essence Destin, Brittany Jean Jacques, and Sasha Lawrence; along with many other extended family members.
Family and friends are invited to honor Katia’s life at a Funeral Mass on Saturday, September 14th, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham, MA 02453. Following the service, committal will take place at Calvary Cemetery, 250 High Street, Waltham, MA 02453. A reception will be held at 2 p.m. at the Marriott Courtyard Boston Cambridge, 777 Memorial Drive, Cambridge, MA 02139.
