Mr. Kenneth E. Bishop, of Waltham, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, April 30, 2022. He was 74.
Kenneth was born on November 8, 1947 in Waltham a son of the late Freeman and Margaret K. (Tarpy) Bishop. A graduate of Waltham High School he attended Wentworth Institute and earned his Bachelor's degree from Lowell Tech. Ken served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Ken's professional career was centered on technology and computers. He worked for CompUSA and later with I.B.M.
In addition to his passion for computers he had a keen interest in photography and was an active volunteer and member of the Waltham Museum in particular with its genealogy division.
He leaves his sister, Cheryl A. Nelsen (Grant) of Bow, New Hampshire; nephews, Christopher Nelsen (Melanie) and Jeffrey Nelsen (Abby); great-nieces & nephews, Ashley and Ethan, Chase and Finnley; his uncle, Frank Tarpy of Waltham; and several cousins.
Family and friends will honor and remember Kenneth's life by gathering to visit at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10th in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by his funeral service at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
