Kenneth R. Kelps

Mr. Kenneth E. Kelps, a longtime Waltham resident, died Sunday, January 12, 2025 in Eliot Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Natick. He was 80 years old. 

He was born on December 18, 1944 in Waltham and remained a lifelong resident. Ken graduated from Thompson Academy in Boston with the class of 1964. Ken enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Vietnam. 

He worked at Eversource, Star Market and later in custodial services at Sacred Heart Church where he loved taking care of the outside grounds. Ken was an avid history reader and spent his time enjoying mystery shows. He loved animals especially his precious cat Nicki who predeceased him. 

Ken will be remembered for his endless generosity and kindness to others.

All are welcome to honor and remember Ken’s life by gathering at Calvary Cemetery, 250 High Street, Waltham, on Friday, January 17, 2025 when his graveside service with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. There are no calling hours.
