Mr. Kevin M. Kiley, of Waltham, died Thursday, April 4, 2024 in his home. He was 76.
Kevin was born in Brighton on January 13, 1948, the son of the late William and Regina (DiCiaccio) Kiley. Raised in Waltham, he was a graduate of Waltham High School and went on to earn his associate’s degree in accounting. He began his career in banking and later worked for the family insurance agency in Medford.
In his younger years Kevin had a love for cars. With his keen eye and natural attention to detail he could name the model, make, and year from a single image and could probably recite any detail one would want to know about it. Kevin also had a talent and interest in photography; he loved capturing moments with family and friends from behind the lens to keep for years to come. He also had a lifelong love for travel. The best trip he ever took was when he met his future wife, Cecile Marchionne, on a flight to San Francisco. What started as an innocent in-flight conversation became a wonderful 47-year long marriage to the love of his life.
Cecile and Kevin married in Saint Ann’s Church in Somerville on June 11, 1977 and the pair moved to Waltham where they would raise their family. Together they loved going on cruises all over the world. They visited the British Isles, the Mediterranean, the Panama Canal, the Baltic region, and almost everywhere in between. In the summer they also made many happy memories at the family home at Sagamore Beach. Kevin had a green thumb, maintaining a beautiful flower and tomato garden at home in Waltham and at his home on Cape Cod. Above all he was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his family and the feeling was matched beyond words.
In addition to his parents, awaiting his arrival in Heaven is his brother, William J. Kiley, Jr.
He leaves his wife, Cecile, his children, Kevin Kiley and his wife, Laureen, of Wilmington and Karen Kiley of Waltham; his grandchildren, Jackson, Abigail, and Charlotte Kiley; his mother-in-law, Florinda Marchionne; his brother-in-law, Joseph Marchionne; his sister-in-law, Gladys Kiley of Framingham; his nieces, Doreen and Donna; and many cousins and their families.
Family and friends will honor and remember Kevin’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, April 10th from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or online at https://www.stjude.org/ or to the charity of your choice.
