Watertown – Mrs. Laura L. (Furlong) (Grimes) Muldoon, of Watertown, died on January 26, 2012 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, Florida. She was 98.
Laura was born in Waltham on October 15, 1913, a daughter of the late Francis and Nancy (Pelrine) Furlong. After finishing at Saint Mary's School in Waltham she went to work at the Waltham Watch Factory. She moved to Watertown over 75 years ago and was an active parishioner at Saint Patrick's Church. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo and was an avid fan of the Brown University Men's Lacrosse team.
She was the wife of the late Henry Grimes and George Muldoon.
She is survived by her children Richard Grimes and his wife, Nancy, of Waltham, Janice Dunne of Watertown and her late husband, Edward, and James Muldoon and his wife, Barbara Ryan, of Geneva, Switzerland; her grandchildren Michelle Grimes, Christopher Grimes and Ryan Thomas Muldoon.
She was the sister of the late Alice Raguso and James Furlong.
Family and friends will honor and remember Laura's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday February 9th, from 7 to 9 p.m. and again at 8 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Patrick's Church, 212 Main Street, Watertown where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
