Waltham – Mrs. Laura E. (Sangermano) Taillacq, of Waltham, died on May 19, 2013 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton. She was 91.
Laura was born in Waltham on April 5, 1922, a daughter of the late Giovanni and Anna (Mazzocchi) Sangermano of Isola, Italy. She was a lifelong resident of Waltham and a graduate of Waltham High School's Class of 1941.
She was very devoted to her faith and attended Grace Chapel in Lexington for many years and was currently a member of Waters Church of Norwood. She was a loving caregiver to her mother for over twenty-eight years. Laura was a lover of music and a fan of the Metropolitan Opera. She also greatly enjoyed old movies. Her family appreciated her gourmet cooking and in her day Laura had won a few cooking contests. She was a talented cartoonist and had been a competitive figure skater as a youngster. She had a great sense of humor and welcomed all into her home as family.
Laura was the wife of the late Ernest T. Taillacq; loving mother of Lisa Taillacq of Waltham and the late Ernest T. Taillacq, Jr. She also leaves behind beloved cousins, friends and nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Alfred, Silvio, Laura and Ugo Sangermano.
Family and friends will honor and remember Laura's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Friday, May 24th from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. in Waters Church, 668 Walpole Street, Norwood. Burial will follow in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.
