Waltham – Mrs. Laurie A. (Mazzuchelli) Moran, of Waltham, died Tuesday, July 26, 2022 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 49.
Laurie was born in Milford on September 20, 1972, the daughter Richard Mazzuchelli and Patricia (Flynn) Mazzuchelli. Raised in Blackstone she was a graduate of Blackstone Valley Technical High School and the Community College of Rhode Island where she trained to be a medical technician.
On May 8, 1999 she married Thomas Moran in Sacred Heart Church in Milford and the pair made Waltham their lifelong home. Laurie found great joy in spending time with family and friends, and loved being a part of her son's school community. She was a devoted mother who never missed a hockey or lacrosse game or school event.
Spending time with family at Coast Guard Beach in Eastham or checking out the bears at Clark's Trading Post in Lincoln, New Hampshire were always on her yearly agenda.
In addition to her beloved husband of 23 years, Sergeant Thomas W. Moran, WPD, she leaves her son, Daniel T. Moran of Waltham; her parents, Richard Mazzuchelli of Blackstone and Patricia (Flynn) Mazzuchelli of Northbridge; her brother, Joseph Mazzuchelli of Blackstone; her mother and father-in-law, James "Mac" and Kathleen Moran of Waltham; her brothers and sisters-in-law, James Moran (Karen), Kathleen Donahoe (Gerry), Michael Moran (Monica), Judith Chicco (Paul), and John "Jack" Moran (Eileen); and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family and friends will honor and remember Laurie's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Monday, August 1st from 4 to 8 p.m. and again Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
