Westbrook, Maine – Mr. Laurie J. Pellerin, of Westbrook, formerly of Waltham, died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at his home. He was 84.
Laurie was born on October 21, 1930 in Bouctouche, New Brunswick, a son of the late Adelard and Delphine (Bourgeois) Pellerin. He immigrated to the United Sates in 1963 and lived in Waltham before moving to Westbrook, Maine in 2000.
Laurie worked as a truck driver for many years for Cutter-Northern Trucking Company in Woburn before retiring in 2000. He was a longtime member of Saint Joseph's Church in Waltham. Laurie always enjoyed taking trips back home to Canada to visit with his family, playing Bingo, taking occasional trips to the local casino and watching westerns and hockey games on television.
Laurie leaves his children, Donald J. Pellerin, Jean M. Cormier and her husband, Philip, all of Westbrook, Maine, David L. Pellerin and his wife, Crystal of Auburn, Maine and Lori Despres and her husband, Richard of Worcester; his grandchildren, Donielle Pellerin, Kyle, R.J., Samantha, Alison and Matthew Pellerin and Caitlyn and Ricky Despres; his great-grandson, Xavier Pellerin; his sisters, Aline Cincotta, Marie Hancock and her husband, Joseph, all of Waltham and Rita Babineau of Bouctouche, New Brunswick; his brother-in-law, Romeo Hebert of Bouctouche, New Brunswick and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Amanda Dallaire, Geralda Caissie, Suzanne Moyer and Edmee Hebert.
Family and friends will honor and remember Laurie's life by gathering for calling hours on Wednesday, February 25th from 4 to 8 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
