Lawrence S. Gatti

Waltham – Mr. Lawrence S. "Larry" Gatti, of Waltham, died Sunday, June 9, 2019 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 75.

Larry was born in Waltham on June 18, 1943, a son of the late Daniel and Theresa (Calabuffalo) Gatti, and had been a lifelong resident. For years he worked at Gardencrest Apartments in Waltham where he handled maintenance projects, large and small, throughout the complex. After he retired he began a second career as a painter for Nickerson & Hills on Main Street where his talent and experience were well-suited to the job.

In February, 1968 he married the love of his life, Adeline M. "Lynn" (Bastarache) Gatti, and the couple enjoyed forty-six happy years together before Lynn's death in 2014.

He leaves his children, Lawrence A. Gatti of West Dennis, Mark J.Gatti of Waltham and Amy L. Davis (Michael) of Moreno Valley, California; his grandchildren, Jordyn, Olivia and Ryan Davis; his sister, Lorraine Almeida of Madison, Maine and many nieces, nephews and their families.

Larry was also a brother of the late Louis, Joseph, Daniel and MaryAnn Gatti, Donata Savotsky and Helen Dansereau.

Family and friends will honor and remember Larry's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, June 14th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
