Waltham - Mr. Lawrence M. Vereker, of Waltham, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at Maristhill Nursing Home after a brief illness surrounded by his family. He was 76. Born in Boston, a son of the late Daniel and Delia (Flanagan), Lawrence was a machinist for over twenty-five years at the J.L. Thompson Company in Waltham. Lawrence was a Korean War veteran serving with the United States Navy. Lawrence was the brother of the late Rev. John Vereker, Daniel Vereker, and Mary Mahan. He leaves his wife of fifty years, Frances P. (Skerritt) Vereker; his children, John J. Vereker and his wife, Marty, of Chelmsford, Larry C. Vereker and his wife, Irene, of Billerica, Fran A. Helms and her husband, Greg, and Peter A. Vereker all of West Newton and Joseph T. Vereker of Waltham; his cousin, Sr. Jane Vereker of Knock, Co. Mayo, Ireland; his grandchildren, John-Michael, Gregory, Kellie, Jaclyn, Michael, Anthony, Shawn, Ashley, Bryan, and Joseph and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Saint Josephs Cemetery, West Roxbury.
