Lee E. Mele

Winchester – Mrs. Lee E. (Rigione) Mele, of Winchester, formerly of Waltham, died Friday, June 6, 2008 at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Connecticut. She was 88. Born in Boston, a daughter of the late Angelo and Antoinetta (Vadaro) Rigione, she had lived in Everett and in Waltham before moving to Winchester nine years ago. Lee had been a longtime member of Nawshawtuc Country Club in Concord and Oakley Country Club in Belmont. The wife of the late Modest S. Mele, she leaves her son, Peter M. Mele and his wife, Barbara A., of Southbury, Connecticut; her grandchildren, Lori E. Mele and Peter M. Mele, Jr. and many nieces and nephews. Lee was also a sister of the late Ann Papile, Patrick Rigione, Anthony Rigione and Angelo 'Charlie' Rigione. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9 a.m. Monday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Julia's Church, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston Center, at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Weston. Visiting hours are Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m.
