Lena (Ivery) Jonas died peacefully at Phillips Manor in Lynn on November 21, 2017. She was 96.
Lena was born in Weldon, North Carolina on May 5, 1921, a daughter of the late Lampotee and Essie Jane (Clark) Ivery. After high school Lena moved to Mt. Vernon, New York where should would settle along with her siblings. She was very active in her church community and was known for her green thumb and love of gardening. Lena and her late husband, Henry, also enjoyed boating and fishing and travelled as much as possible; having visited over seventeen states together. In 2008 Lena moved to Waltham to be close to her sister, Essie Mae, and her niece, Mona.
She was the wife of the late Henry Jonas and sister of the late Essie Mae Williams, Lenwood Ivery, Charles Ivery and James Ivery. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families including Mona Giuliano of Lynn.
Funeral services to be announced at a later date.
