Dudley – Mr. Leo W. 'Chick' Connor, of Dudley, formerly of Waltham died suddenly Monday, February 22nd at The Harrington Hospital in Webster. He was 80 years old. Leo was born in Newton on May 12, 1929, a beloved son of the late Leo F. and Caroline (Schade) Connor. He was raised and educated in both Newton and Waltham. Leo served with the United States Army during World War II. Until his retirement in 1986 he had worked for many years as a meter reader for the City of Waltham Water Department. He was also a member of the Joseph F. Hill American Legion Post No. 156 in Waltham. Leo was the beloved husband of the late Muriel (Panache) Connor, the beloved brother of Jean L. Williams of Natick, Richard Connor and his wife, Mychio, of Londonderry, New Hampshire, and James Connor of Winchendon. He was the beloved uncle of Nancy Anza, Carolyn Tiberi, Mina Connor, Dorothy Mann, Jeffrey Connor, Brian Connor, Erin Jaffe and James Connor and his wife, Priscilla, and their son, Wyatt, of Dudley with whom he made his home for the past six years. Leo is also survived by many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was also a brother of the late Robert Connor. Family and friends will honor and remember Leo's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main St. (Rte. 20) Waltham on Sunday from 2 to 5p.m. and again at 11 a.m. on Monday morning when his funeral service will be held. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
