Retired Waltham Firefighter Leonard H. Kelly of Waltham died Monday July 12, 2004 in Epoch of Weston. He was 71. Born in Waltham, a son of the late Henry J. and Mary F. (Quirk) Kelly, Mr. Kelly was a member of the Waltham Fire Department from April 30, 1961 until his retirement, January 14, 1989. Mr. Kelly was a Korean War veteran who served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the I.A.F.F. Local #866 as well as the Marine Corps League, the Henry J. Kelly Detachment which was named for Leonards brother. He was the brother of the late Rita M. Cloherty, Mary E. Carnes, Richard J. Kelly, Lt. Henry J. Kelly, Jr; John F. Kelly and Joseph E. Kelly. He is survived by his wife Irene M. (Milligan) Kelly, his children Kimberly A. LeBlanc of Waltham, Timothy P. Kelly and his wife Marnie of Marlboro, Michael L. Kelly of Waltham and Tara L. Maguire and her husband Brian of Waltham, two sisters, his twin Lorraine Bourque and her husband Bill of Waltham and Barbara Remedis of Assonet, one grandson Darren H. LeBlanc and many nieces and nephews. The Funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Julias Church, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
