LeRoy M. 'Lee' Robinson

Waltham - Mr. LeRoy M. 'Lee' Robinson Jr., Of Waltham, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in Saint Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton. He was 86.

Lee was born January 7, 1932 at home in Waltham a son of the late LeRoy M. and Bessie M. (Kincaide) Robinson. Raised and educated in Waltham he graduated from Waltham High School with the class of 1950. While offered scholarships to play hockey to both Boston University and Northeastern life took him in a different path. Lee earned his certification in television repair from Saunder's Electronics School in Boston. On March 7, 1964 he married Concord native Marilyn J. Gahan in Trinity Church in Concord and remained a lifelong Waltham resident.

He began work at Phelps Television Repair and owned and operated his own store in West Concord before taking a position as project manager for Granada Hospital Group based out of New York with an office in Waltham. He retired February 28, 1991.

Lee was active in Waltham Youth Hockey Association and coached the various leagues including the Squirts, Pee-Wee's, Bantams and the Midgets. An avid baseball fan he also had the opportunity to try out for the Boston Red Sox. Other interests included art in which he was a talented oil-painter and sketcher.

In addition to his wife of 54 years, Marilyn he leaves their children, LeRoy M. 'Lee' Robinson III and his wife, Jennifer of Waltham and Nancy E. Rodick and her husband, Martin of Millis; his grandchildren,Rachel and Victoria Robinson and James and Drew Rodick; brother of the late Patricia L. Millen; also survived by a niece and several nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Lee's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, March 30th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning when his funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery.
