Licia A. Finke

Mrs. Licia A. (Saraceni) Finke, of Waltham, died Friday, January 27, 2023 in Lahey Medical Center in Burlington. She was 83.

Licia was born on June 14, 1939 in Orsogna, Province of Abruzzese, Italy the daughter of the late Levino and Filomena (Disipio) Saraceni. She immigrated to the United States in December 1970 settling in Boston’s North End. She married William J. Finke on April 16, 1972 in Sacred Heart Church in North Square and then made Waltham her home.

She was a wonderful and loving homemaker who enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening, cooking and spoiling her newest and only grandchild, Sofia.

In addition to her husband of 50 years, William, she leaves her sons, William J. Finke Jr. and Giovanni A. Finke and his wife, Alicia, all of Waltham; her granddaughter, Sofia Finke; her brothers, Giovanni Saraceni and his wife, Maria Luisa and Cesare Saraceni, all of Everett; her niece, Estella Saraceni.

Family and friends will honor and remember Licia’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, February 2^nd from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 10 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m.  Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
