Lidia Contreras De Pena

Waltham – Mrs. Lidia Contreras De Pena, of Waltham, died Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 73. Lidia was born in El Salvador on April 17, 1936, a daughter of the late Salvador Contreras and Eva Dominquez and had lived for many years in Brooklyn, New York before moving to Waltham four years ago. Lidia was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting and will be remembered by her family as a terrific cook. She leaves her children, Salvador Pena-Contreras of Boxborough and Anna Eva Pena-Monge of Brooklyn, New York; her grandchildren, Jason, Christine and Melissa Pena and Joel and Justice Monge; her sisters and brother, Elena Chavarria of Michigan and Esperanza Lemus and Rigoberto Contreras, both of El Salvador and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will honor and remember Lidia’s life by gathering for her funeral service at 12 noon on Friday, September 4, 2009 in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham.
