Waltham Mrs. Lillian E. (Cormier) McDonnell of Waltham died Saturday, March 12, 2005 at the Stanley Tippett Home in Needham. She was 89. Born and raised in Cambridge, a daughter of the late Octave and Malvina (Therien) Cormier, she lived in Waltham since 1946. In 1949 she became a founding member of Saint Jude Parish in Waltham and for many years worked as a banquet waitress for Nims Catering in Waltham. After that she worked at Valles Steak House on Route 9 until her retirement. In her spare time Lillian enjoyed knitting, crocheting, traveling and playing bingo. The wife of the late James J. McDonnell, she leaves her son, James A. McDonnell and his wife Mindy Mazur of Milton; two grandsons, Sam J. McDonnell and Daric Delfino; one brother, Ernest Cormier of Watertown; one sister, Alice Fitzgerald of Vacaville, CA and many nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Diane M. McGee and sister of the late Leo, Arthur, George, Lawrence, Albert and Alfred Cormier. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral at 9:30 a.m Wednesday from The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
