Waltham - Mrs. Lillian E. (Romeo) Porreca-O’Connell, of Waltham, died Thursday, September 9, 2010 in the Geriatric Authority Nursing Center in Milford. She was 87.
Lillian was born in Boston on May 2, 1923, a daughter of the late Eugene and Anastasia (O’Brien) Romeo. A former resident of Belmont, she was a graduate of Belmont High School and had lived in Waltham for many years. Lillian was a homemaker who loved her family and enjoyed playing bingo. She was a parishioner of Saint Mary’s Church in Waltham.
The wife of the late Idillio C. Porreca and Robert V. O’Connell, she leaves her children, Dianne E. Chandnoit and her husband, Bill, of Bedford, Edward J. Porreca and his wife, Kathleen, of Bellingham, and Alan J. Porreca of Bedford; her sister, Antoinette ‘Netta’ Bain of West Newbury; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Lillian’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, September 13, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary’s Church, 133 School Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
