Waltham – Mrs. Linda M. (Generoso) Pilla, of Waltham, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Epoch Senior Healthcare Center in Weston. She was 80.
Linda was born in Waltham on March 15, 1930, a daughter of the late Albino and Anna (Cantagallo) Generoso, and had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Saint Mary’s High School in Waltham where she remained active with all of her class reunion committees.
She was the owner of Unique Secretarial Services in Waltham from 1966 to 1986 and before that she worked as an executive secretary for Technical Instruments and for the Raytheon Corporation. Linda had also worked for a period of time for the Arthritis Foundation in Newton. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Guild at Sacred Heart Church and volunteered at the Espousal Center for the Stigmatine Fathers and Brothers. She also volunteered her time doing clerical work for the Waltham Police Department.
She leaves her son, George J. Pilla and his wife, Kibby, of Waltham and many nieces and nephews.
Linda was also the sister of the late James, Armando and John Generoso.
Family and friends will honor and remember Linda’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Wednesday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, Waltham.
