Waltham - Lisa Taylor passed away at home with her family at her side on Saturday, December 30, 2023. She was 63. In the days prior, she fully embraced the Christmas spirit by decorating every inch of her home, thoughtfully preparing gifts, and spending time with her family and friends. Lisa loved the holidays – especially the decor, where she was able to put her creativity and passion for crafts on display for everyone to enjoy.
Lisa A. Fisher was born on November 11, 1960 in Waltham, a daughter of the late Robert and Ruth (Gullotti) Fisher. A lifelong Waltham resident she was a graduate of Waltham High School with the class of 1978. She married Thomas M. Taylor on February 14, 1987.
Lisa was well-known as a meticulous planner. From her career as an administrative assistant for G.S.K. Corporation in Cambridge to her many family vacations and travel with friends, Lisa loved to plan, prep, and organize. She truly loved details.
She worshiped the sun. Between family vacations down the Cape, up north on Lake Winnipesaukee, or on a cruise with her closest friends in the Caribbean, Lisa collected countless sunshine-filled memories near the water.
Lisa was an artist – drawing, painting, crafting, and woodworking. Whether it was a decoration for an upcoming holiday, a pencil drawing for a family member, or a watercolor for her own collection – she loved to make things. She also loved to read about history and visit historical monuments across the U.S., including Washington DC and Gettysburg.
Lisa was predeceased by her brother, Robert Fisher, mother-in-law, Dorothy Cusack and brother-in-law, Rick Taylor.
In addition to her husband, Tom, she leaves her children, Thomas M. Taylor Jr. (Renée Rochon) of Newton, Matthew R. Taylor (Drew Stairs) of Boston and Brooke A. Hunt (Spencer) of Waltham; her siblings, Jeffrey Fisher (Carolyn) of Westwood, Sandra Thompson (Jeffrey) of Waltham; in-laws, Joanne Holehouse (Joseph) of Maryland, William Taylor of Waltham, Joseph ‘Jody’ Taylor of Alton Bay, New Hampshire, Judith Aleman (Fred) of Newton, and Patricia Cusack of Newton; many nieces & nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Lisa’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Friday, January 5th from 5 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning when her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Burial is private.
