Waltham – Mrs. Lois (Walker) Christie, of Waltham, died Saturday, January 3, 2015 in EPOCH Senior Healthcare of Weston. She was 95.
Lois was born in Everett on July 23, 1919, a daughter of the late Frank and Madeline (Brady) Walker. She was raised in Everett and Malden and graduated from Everett High School. During the war years she worked in the Charlestown Navy Yard.
A Waltham resident for the past sixty-three years Lois worked as a medical secretary in private practice until her retirement. Her life centered around her home and her family. She was a terrific cook and seamstress and cherished the nature found around her home and gardens.
She leaves her children, Lois M. Christie-Carme and her husband, David, of Weston, William C. Christie and his wife, Cecile, of Lunenburg, and Barbara E. Christie-Garvin and her husband, Jack, of Waitsfield, Vermont; her grandchildren, Jennifer Abbondanzio, Cheri Mahan, David M. Carme, Deanna Christie, William Christie, Nicole Finan and Alyssa Moore; her sister Pauline Pagnani of Livermore, California; nine great-grandchildren and many dear nieces and nephews.
Lois was also the sister of the late Carol Walker and Fred Walker.
Family and friends will honor and remember Lois' life by gathering for calling hours on Thursday January 8th from 4 to 7 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham followed by her funeral service at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
