Waltham – Mr. Loran Calvin "Scotty" MacIver, of Waltham, died Friday, June 5, 2015 at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Nashua, New Hampshire. He was 75.
Scotty was born in Millville, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia on January 18, 1940, one of eight children born to the late Dan and Ida (MacAskill) MacIver, and had been a Waltham resident since 1963.
He served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War and until his retirement worked as a machinist for Artisan Industries in Waltham.
Scotty's wife of forty-three years, Sandra J. (Kirrane) MacIver, died on February 7, 2014.
He leaves his children, Tracy L. Bonilla and her husband, Luis, of Hudson, New Hampshire and Kelley A. MacIver and her longtime companion, Anthony Saint Louis, of Waltham; his grandchildren, L.J. Bonilla, Daniel Bonilla and Caleigh Saint Louis; his brothers, Kenneth MacIver of Truro, Nova Scotia and Donny MacIver of Halifax, Nova Scotia and many nieces and nephews.
He was also a brother of the late Leonard, Roderick and Vernon MacIver, Marion Messinger and Heather Miller.
Family and friends will honor and remember Scotty's life by gathering for calling hours on Wednesday, June 10th from 4 to 7 p.m. in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham where his funeral service will be held at 7 p.m.
