Watertown Mrs. Loretta B. (Barbarick) Tomassian of Watertown died Friday, January 27, 2006 at the Briarwood Healthcare Facility in Needham. She was 94. Mrs. Tomassian was born in Cohasset, a daughter of the late Grover and Jane (MacDonald) Barbarick. Raised and educated in Waltham, she was a graduate of Waltham High School and was a standout basketball player in her time. She was a longtime resident of Watertown. Prior to her marriage she worked for many years at Sears Roebuck. Mrs. Tomassian spent many years as a volunteer at the Mt. Auburn Gift Shop and was a lifetime member of T.O.P.S. Mrs. Tomassian was the wife of late Martin V. Tomassian and the sister of the late Grover and Sumner Barbarick, Myrtle Hastings and Thelma Hapenny. She is survived by four sons, Martin V. Tomassian of Edgartown, Matthew J. Tomassian of Wilmington, Clark A. Tomassian of Franklin, New Hampshire and Clifford B. Tomassian of Needham; one sister, Adelia Strong of Billerica; 11 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services at 11 a.m. Tuesday in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham. Burial will be private.
