Stoneham – Mrs. Lorette M. (Boudreau) Bourgeois, of Stoneham, formerly of Waltham, died Friday, July 8, 2022 in the Arnold House in Stoneham. She was 99 years old.
Lorette was born in Belliveau Village, New Brunswick, Canada, on August 2, 1922. A daughter of the late Alyre and Agnes (LeBlanc) Boudreau, she was raised in New Brunswick and moved to the States in 1952, settling in Waltham. She had worked in the dietary department as a meal coordinator at the Fernald School until her retirement.
Lorette was a doting mother to her daughter and best friend, Dianne M. Farrell. Albeit Dianne's diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis was a daunting reality to face, Lorette's devotion to her daughter was unmatched as the pair lived each day with poise and grace. Once overlooked everyday tasks and simple happenings became gifts the two would cherish together. Dianne died peacefully on February 2, 2017.
In addition to being a loving caregiver to her daughter, Lorette was a faithful communicant of the former Saint Charles Borromeo Church in Waltham and enjoyed crocheting.
In addition to her daughter, she is reunited in Heaven with her husband, Gerard J. Bourgeois and her siblings, Emile Boudreau, Richard Boudreau, and Elodie Oulette.
Lorette leaves her brother and sister, Donald Boudreau and Odette Gaudette, both of Belliveau Village, New Brunswick and Jacqueline Belliveau of Dieppe, New Brunswick and many nieces, nephews, and their families.
Family and friends will honor and remember Lorette's life by gathering to visit in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Friday, July 15th at 8:30 a.m. before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
