Waltham – Mrs. Lorraine A. (Rano) Briganti, of Waltham, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 93.
Lorraine was born in Brockton on June 16, 1919, a daughter of the late Willard A. and Ethel M. (Call) Briganti, and was raised in Cambridge. She graduated from Cambridge Latin School in 1936.
A Waltham resident since 1961, she was associated with the U.S.O. for many years with her late husband, a retired career Army man, Louis A. Briganti. Lorraine and Lou also enjoyed ballroom dancing for years and were members of the U.S. Amateur Ballroom Dancers Association.
She leaves her son, Robert A. Briganti and his wife, Ellen, of Littleton; her grandchildren, Christopher and Cassandra Briganti and several nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was also a sister of the late Clyde Rano, Genevieve Stack, Leona Fairweather, Virginia DeBoer and Ethel Gibbons.
Family and friends will honor and remember Lorraine's life by gathering to visit at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning, July 14th, in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham before leaving in procession to Mount Feake Cemetery, 203 Prospect Street, Waltham where graveside services will be held at 11 a.m.
