Lorraine J. Burns

West Newton- Mrs. Lorraine J. (Murphy) Burns of West Newton died Monday February 28, 2011 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 86.

Lorraine was born on December 17, 1924, a daughter of the late Frank and Eleanor Murphy. She lived in West Newton for over fifty years and was a homemaker.

She leaves her husband, Harry G. Burns, Sr. of West Newton, her son, Harry G. Burns, Jr. of West Newton, one brother, Frank Murphy of Waltham, one sister, Barbara Belliveau of Florida, her grandson, Daniel Burns and many nieces and nephews.

She was also the grandmother of the late Harry Burns, III, and sister of the late Frances McGovern, Tom, Edward, Patricia, and Florence Murphy.

Family and friends will honor and remember Lorraine’s life by gathering for calling hours on Friday, March 4th, in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street, (Rte.20), Waltham from 5 to 7 p.m. followed by her Funeral Service which will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
