Lorraine F. (Carey) Powers

Mrs. Lorraine F. (Carey) Powers, of Weston, died on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at her home. She was 92.

Born in Marlborough on March 10, 1931, Lorraine was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Murphy) Carey. She was raised and educated in Marlborough and after graduating from Marlborough High School in 1949 she furthered her academic pursuits and obtained an associate's degree.

Lorraine began her career at TJX Company where she worked faithfully as a legal secretary in the corporate office for many years before her retirement.  

Beyond her career and education, Lorraine embraced a variety of hobbies that brought immense joy into her life. A passionate golfer, she was also a past member of the Weston Golf Club. Lorraine's love for the game was evident in her role as the Women's Handicap Chairperson at the club.

She leaves her stepchildren, J. Kevin Powers and Sharon Yob; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was also the step-mother of the late John M. Powers and a sister of the late Barbara McMaster, Catherine Mannix and Walter Carey.

A Memorial Mass will be offered in Saint Julia’s Church, 374 Boston Post Road, Weston, on Friday, March 15th, at  10:30 am..
