Waltham – Mrs. Lorraine S. (Aucoin) Welsch, of Waltham, died Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington. She was 89.
Lorraine was born and raised in Waltham, one of thirteen children born to the late George and Helen (Doucette) Aucoin, and had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Waltham High School.
She worked for a time before raising her children for the Raytheon Company and later in life for Phoenix Controls in Newton. Lorraine loved to crochet and had lots of fun with friends at area Bingo games.
Her husband of almost sixty years, Joseph P. Welsch died November 3, 2017.
Lorraine leaves her children, Joseph M. Welsch and his wife, Irene, of Sudbury and Ann T. McKay and her husband, Peter, of Medfield; her grandchildren Lexi and Christina Welsch and Erin, Connor and Avery McKay and many nieces, nephews and their families.
She was also a sister of the late Margaret Greenwood, Rita Boudreau, Marie Bergeron, Alice Mucci, Theresa McNabb, Dora, Cecelia, John, George, Richard, Wilfred and Joseph Aucoin.
Family and friends will honor and remember Lorraine's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Wednesday, February 28th from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
