Louis J. Gatti

Mr. Louis J. Gatti, of Waltham, died at home on Wednesday, February 6, 2019. He was 80.

Louis was born January 25, 1938 in Newton a son of the late Daniel and Theresa (Calabuffalo) Gatti. Raised and educated in Waltham. He married Phyllis E. McKay on December 4, 1965 in Saint Mary's Church.

Louis worked over 42 years in maintenance at The Garden Crest Apartments in Waltham before retiring seven years ago.

Retirement afforded Lou more time to spend working around his home and tending to his gardens. He and Phyllis also enjoyed putting together Lego's and he had a talent for the time consuming pixel art that he loved creating.

Louis is predeceased by his siblings, Joseph and Daniel Gatti, Donata Savotsky, MaryAnn Gatti and Helen Dansereau.

In addition to his wife of 53 years, Phyllis he leaves his son, Louis J. 'Chip' Gatti Jr. of Waltham; his grandchildren, Sarah and Michael Gatti; his siblings, Lawrence Gatti of Waltham, Lorraine Almeida of Maine; his sister-in-law, Jean Gatti of Hyannis; nieces & nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Louis's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Route 20), Waltham on Tuesday, February 12th from 6 to 8 p.m. and again at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning in Saint Mary's Church, 133 School Street, Waltham where his funeral liturgy will be celebrated. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
