Parrish, Florida – Mrs. Louise M. (Gastonguay) Griffith, of Parrish, formerly of Granby, Connecticut, St. Louis, Missouri and Waltham passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2011 surrounded by family. She was 74.
Louise was born on January 26, 1937, a daughter of the late Anna (Richard) and Hector Gastonguay of Waltham. She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Waltham and had worked for CBT bank in Bloomfield, Connecticut. She was an active volunteer at St. Frances X. Cabrini Church in Parrish.
She will be remembered as a dedicated wife and mother who loved being surrounded by family; she recently enjoyed a week at the beach with her children and grandchildren. Louise knew no strangers; she always had an open door and fresh pot of coffee for the friends and neighbors that she considered family.
Louise was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob, in 2005; her sister, Lorraine Cormier and brother, Richard Gastonguay.
She leaves her children, Robert Griffith and his wife, Susan, of New York; Kevin Griffith and his wife, Annie, of Missouri; Sharon Morris and her husband, Mark, of North Carolina; Diane Scheuering and her husband, Tom, of Pennsylvania; and Stephen Griffith and his wife, Karen, of Massachusetts. She also leaves 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and her sisters Jeanne Delaney of Waltham and Claire Taber of Colorado and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, October 19th at St. John Neumann Church, 8451 Idlewild Road in Charlotte, North Carolina and a Memorial Mass with interment of ashes will be held at St. Frances X. Cabrini Church, 12001 69th Street East, Parrish, Florida on Saturday, October 29th at 11 a.m.
