Waltham – Mrs. Louise A. Quirk, of Waltham, died Saturday, August 27, 2016 in Neville Center, Cambridge. She was 93.
Louise was born in Boston on May 1, 1923, a daughter of the late Edward and Agnes (Higgins) Keegan. She was raised in Newton where she graduated from Our Lady Help of Christians High School. During WWII she served as a volunteer for the USO.
She married her late beloved husband, Newton native Charles W. Quirk in October of 1948 in Our Lady's Help of Christians and the couple lived in Newton before moving to Waltham in 1960.
Louise worked at the New England Telephone and Telegraph Company for 32 years, retiring as a Sales Representative.
She is survived by her son, Brian C. Quirk and his wife, Ellen, of Belmont; her grandchildren, Kathleen, Kevin and Colin Quirk and many nieces and nephews.
Louise was the sister of the late Edna Lyons, Francis Keegan, and Edward "Jim" Keegan.
Family and friends will honor and remember Louise's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main St., (Rte. 20), Waltham on Thursday, September 1st from 4 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Newton Cemetery.
