Waltham - Mr. Lucien Bernard, of Waltham, died Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 80. Lucien was born in Montreal, Quebec on February 14, 1930, a son of the late Alfred and Imelda (St. Onge) Bernard, and had lived in Waltham for the past fifty-six years. Until his retirement in 1985 he worked as an electrician for twenty-five years for the Polaroid Corporation in Waltham. After that Lucien enjoyed gardening at home and traveling with his family. A handyman around the house he was also a talented upholsterer. He leaves his wife, Agnes (Robichaud) Bernard; his children, Roland Bernard and Diane Bernard, both of Waltham and Linda Rotunno and her husband, Robert, of Melrose; his grandchildren, Michael, Rolanda, Rosalyn and Aurora; and his great-grandchildren, Evan, Marina Lyn, and Brenden. Lucien was the father of the late Paul Bernard Family and friends will honor and remember Lucien's life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte.20), Waltham on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Charles Borromeo Church, 51 Hall Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
